'Beasts of the Southern Wild' vs. 'Moonrise Kingdom'

These two have both came out in 2012 and is noted for the use of 16mm. Which one did you liked better and why?

I like the Beasts of the Southern Wild best, but I gave both 9 out of 10. Both movies are about survival of the next generation. But Beasts never ran away from the truths, you teach the next generation. Moonrise did run away from the truths, the next generation teaching them, however compelling. So Beasts would get a 9.5, while Moonrise a 9.0.

I didn't see Moonhouse Kingdom. But your critique of BOTSW was spot on.
