where do i begin?????

first, let me pick myself up off the floor. wow! what a PIERCING little movie!

this is a powerful story, and shoots immediately to the top of my list right beside Rabbit Proof Fence.

i can't say enough about the little actress. she is an ANGEL! she was just so devine. :) :) ...and the father was great too. what a real heart wrencher this was. but it also ended on that endearing upbeat note we all hope for. man oh man i just LOVE THIS MOVIE!

it is a perfect blend of ALL the good elements of a fine film. it's a story of mythic proportion, and Quvenzhané Wallis lived up to it in every frame. God bless that child, what a great little actress she is. you just want to climb in the screen and hug her neck. but wow, i'm really floored at the stoic quality she exhibited. she made history with the oscar nomination, and she deserved every vote!

man it was so touching, i lost my composure several times just watching. the chemistry between her and the dad was outstanding.

i'm sure i'll think of about a million more things to add later, but for now i give PRAISE for a job well done! my hat is off to Quvenzhané and the whole cast and crew... whoever made this film is an instant maestro IMO

i think the reason i resisted watching this for a while was that i had the impression it was a children's film. but it's really not, at all. very mature themes, of a serious nature.

i just have to drop by here and toss some more love at the makers of this film. particularly the little actress who starred in it.

when it's two weeks later and i still see her images in my mind all day, that is a powerful film. i say WOW. just wow. one of the most powerful films i have ever seen, period.

easily one of the most heart wrenching films ever, ever.

one like this grows in importance AFTER you are done watching it. i swear the images haunt my dreams to this day, and i only saw it once. i don't think i could bear watching it again, and may never.

it sure nailed me when i saw it, though. i wish that little actress had won the oscar. i really do.

One of the better performances of the year. Wallis nailed it! Had my attention from jump.

I think it's my favorite film so far made in the 21st century, beautiful in every way. It deserved more nominations - and some Oscars!

it's at the top of my list too. i'm a sucker for heart-wrenchers, and this is the wrencher of all wrenchers, IMO

I have to add, not only did I love her performance, but the entire imaginativeness of the narrative, the beautiful cinematography. Everything was perfect!

if you've ever loved anyone, this movie applies to you. believer, atheist, doesn't matter. love is a universal thing, and this movie is a beautiful illustration of love and its power over motivation.

this wonderful movie brings love right to the surface, showing WHY people do things, or really even WHY people 'are' in the first place. a father, a daughter, a love above the clouds. enough said.

just typing this... is tearing me up again.

damn i just love this sweet little movie

my hat's off to everyone involved, the filmmakers, the actors, but especially the dad and little Wallis. she is so adorable. as i have said, she stole the show.

that little hushpuppy stole my heart.
