Decent movie.

Ana VillafaƱe has wings. Best wishes for her to fly.

The movie itself was pretty procedural but everyone but the "adoptive mom" was convincing (can't blame the actress, though, adoptive moms / regular moms get the worst scripting).

Really minor spoilers (from a predictable standpoint):

I won't write an overview of the movie as a whole, just think of a general "Person in Protective Custody" recipe. Bad guy looks for said person, person generally makes a new life after losing everything, bad guy finds said person, bad guy is dealt with.

I did like how it simply ended with the bad guy being dealt with and nothing more, we don't know which "guy" the girl "hooks up with" (though there's a good idea of who it will be anyone can argue it). Ana VillafaƱe sings the credits song and it shows video of her in the studio as she sings. She has a great voice, and it's pretty good. I wish her the best of luck with her acting career. I hadn't heard of her but yeah. Besh wishes Ana, you'll go far if your agent can get you good spots.

7/10 for a low budget generalized "protective custody" with a high schooler twist. I tend to vote on the high side for movies, but for me this is slightly "above average" (I've ranked over 400+ movies).

Would be interested in a sequel. Throw in more Spanish with some exciting twists and turns. :D (Say Ana winds up testifying and the mob bosses are after her and she winds up in Mexico, something like that. I disavow any rights to such a suggestion.)

2/10 This was a pretty cool premise that failed in the execution.

I don't think it failed at all. I really loved it and Ana is gorgeous. I'd never heard of her before. FWIW, I gave it 8/10.

I have to agree with "TheKiddy." OK, yes, most of the acting was good (surprising since this aired on LifeTime), BUT it just wasn't realistic at all. I just can't believe that the Police/FBI would put a minor in protective custody and not inform the family she's being placed with that she's in the Witness Protection Program. Why? Because they're putting said family in potential grave danger. The fact that "Jo" was constantly on alert and freaking out at what Lucy considered mundane things was proof. At the very least, the FBI should have had agents continuously watching her, not having one agent drop her off with a family and only coming to check on her once in several months time.

So, for me, this is why it failed.

Oh, that and it was really hard to believe that not ONE of those police officers or the FBI agent could have been more careful against the shooter. Really? I just rolled my eyes at that point.
