he said it self it's a very low budget
few actors and a good storyline with bad special effects
it's just freaking low budget movie
okay half of the movie wasn't funny but at least some of it was funny

shareI was expecting it to be similar to the quality of one of his AVGN but it was actually worse as he & others kept throwing swearing unnecessarily, the storyline was over the top and James Rolfe as AVGN not only did he overact but it felt too forced.
Regardless, I still watch his Mike & James videos as well as his reviews but his film.. just no.
I was expecting sometihing like Mr Bucket, the girly phone, NES championship. Some funny story.

Well he did only co-write it. Kevin Finn to my knowledge has no professional writing credits and nothing to show that he's a capable comedy writer. Maybe that's why his collaboration with James produced something a lot different than what fans are used to from the show which is pretty much all James Rolfe. Something tells me the movie would have been a lot different had James been the sole writer.

Your post would be more legible and respectable, if you used actual grammar and punctuation, instead of writing genuine cursewords that get censored (instead of circumventing the censorship).
In any case, my expectation was that this movie is going to be a "B-Horrormovie with lame jokes and wrong plotlines" instead of "True AVGN-movie with AVGN-specific plotline with lots of GAMES featured".
I also expected the movie to be quite awful, because I know how much those 'theatric gimmicks' in the otherwise good AVGN-episodes suck, and how the movie was not going to be 'an extended AVGN-episode' or even a movie about the character's life, like promised (and in my humble opinion, should have been).
The movie, in fact, was lower than my expectations nevertheless. I expected it to be as awful as the trailer, but it was worse.
Even the E.T.-review at the end was a listless disappointment - it wasn't as fun to experience as most of the even mediocre 'classic' AVGN-episodes.
There is a LOT seriously wrong with this movie, there is no escape from that fact. You can put your fingers to your ears and chant your favorite AVGN-mantra, but at some point, you are going to have to look at this movie honestly, and see the truth.
The emperor is truly naked, and it'd be better if everyone could openly admit it. Only then can the clothing begin.
I never expected this to be anywhere near as good as The Dark Knight. But I at least expected it to be an entertaining and funny movie. Sadly, the script was bad, the acting was horrid, the special effects were awful and it just didn't feel like an Angry Video Game Nerd movie.

The thing about James is he stumbled onto a character that people loved, the movie doesn't have that character, it just has a pale watered down imitation of the character. He needed to stick to what worked and should have had a real writer help him. Really, what was supposed to be funny or entertaining about that general guy or the black kid who played his friend?
You act like people should give him an A for effort and ignore the movies flaws. If it was a free movie maybe, but he charged people to see it. If people are paying to see a movie there is a level of quality expected and his movie simply doesn't have it. It's a terrible movie. Nothing to do with "hate" and using "hate" and calling people who didn't like the movie "haters" is absurd.
