Total crap !!

Hey. Now I remember why I stay clear of swedish movies. I hadnt seen a swedish movie in a looong time for obvious reasons but this one was based on a book that was suppose to be good, scary and a little different. This movie was neither of those things. Within minutes you see how much they try to copy american cinema. You know right away who the "badguy" is. And just as fast you know who the "special" witch is gonna be.
One BIG problem with swedish movies today is dialog. Swedish screenwriters and film makers
think that it`s a good idea to take dialog they`ve heard in english and transfer it into swedish. Believe me, it doesnt work at all. Swedish people doesnt talk like that. And when I hear their dialog I can tell that when they write the dialog, they have thought about how they say lines in american movies and transfer it directly into swedish instead.
And like I said, it does not work. It`s sounds fake, forced and just plain wrong. Im from Sweden so I know how people talk here. Maybe it doesnt sound like a big issue but it really is.
The acting wasnt too good either. The dialog was crap. The effects were pretty good for a swedish movie. But it was too long. And I went in thinking I would see a scary horror movie. Instead I saw a typical swedish teen movie without a single scary moment.
Anyway, next time I watch a swedish movie, which wont happen for a loooong time, I`ll check it out a little more before watching it.

I didn't hate it, but there were a lot of cringe-worthy moments typical of Swedish film (varför är alla våra filmer så töntiga?!). But it was refreshing to see a Swedish urban fantasy movie. Unfortunately the villain (and his acting) absolutely sucked balls and it didn't feel like the fate of the world depended on the witches AT ALL.

Being one of the first and even maybe the only urban fantasy movie in Swedish, I think it does a pretty good job. The dialogue does sound a bit forced and stiff and I chalk that up to it being a film based on a novel. Those movies tend to lift lines from the source and I think we all can agree that almost no one talks like they do in books.

I like Swedish movies (I'm a Finn), but yeah.. this was crap. It was like an hour too long, and the story was so generic and boring it made fall asleep.
