A Full-On Triumph!

I took my wife and two girls to the Premiere of Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet on March 3rd 2012.

I have been a fan of Jason Becker since 1987 and followed his career ever since, I was fortunate enough to become friends with Jason over the last 10 years through a mutual friend. This movie is done amazingly well by Jesse Vile.

I was floored at the job the film makers did with a precious story such as Jasons. It is also a story of his family, friends and supporters with a lot of humor (anyone that knows Jason will tell you...he is a smartass) and love.

You will see Jasons story from birth up all the way up until the present.

I am a HUGE Jason Becker fan and admirer but this film will appeal to all kinds of people in my opinion...musicians or not.

The film did so well that they had an encore showing on March 11th so I went again and took my Dad with me (he has been hearing about Jason Becker for the last 25 years) and he loved it as well.

Can't wait for this movie to get the attention it deserves...when it comes to your area don't hesitate to go check it out...you will not be disappointed!

Nice post, I too am a Jason Becker fan. Although, I got into him over the past couple of years when I stumbled upon "Speed Metal Symphony" and was BLOWN AWAY. So I checked out the rest of Jason's catalogue. That's cool that you've become friends with him, I would love the opportunity to meet him! And I am also DYING to see this documentary, it looks rather heartwarming and well made.

I saw it for the first time last night. It was very good. My only complaint is I don't think they did a good job of giving Becker's age during all his accomplishments up to the time he got sick. Maybe I missed it? But anyway, very good documentary.

I thought it was interesting how much his diet helped his appearance. He looked like a skeleton during the 1990s. Looks much better now. He's a tough dude.

DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!

Well done film, but a bit surprising that David Lee Roth was not interviewed as part of the documentary.
Instead, they interviewed Roth's drummer.
It's good to have Steve Vai and Satriani, but they weren't in the band.

I too was surprised that David Lee Roth was not interviewed for this documentary. I just hope he wasn't asked and turned down the opportunity. Also, would have like to have seen Eddie Van Halen interviewed as well, seeing he did support ALS research in the 1990's.
