Yen's partner is what killed the movie

The action in the movie is pretty good but what's up with Yen's partner? She was annoying and could have easily been written out of the story. I agree with other posters that this movies a mess but I think its mostly due to screen time being devoted to this woman who hardly changed the story in any way. There's room in the action movie industry for female martial artists but this chick definitely shouldn't be one.
