Malin Ackerman was the right age to play MAX's mom, but she was too old to play NANCY. Even if all the camp counselors had been the same age, it still would've been too distracting to see a woman not age in 30 years.

DUNCAN's age is never mentioned and there's no reason to believe he's the same age as his sister and her friends, but it felt like he was in the same age group (not more than 5 years older). Therefore, I also think Thomas Middledich was too old to play him.

Meh. They're too well cast actingwise to throw out. I'd sooner replace Farmiga

I like Taissa, but I agree, I felt she was a bit out of place, just my opinion.

The teens in the 80 slasher films were mostly played by older actors so Malin makes sense to me.

That's why there's make up. I think the movie did a fine job at separating her younger self from the older. Plus it's smarter to use the same actor rather than having to pay an extra one for the same character.

If anything, they should have made the mother look a bit older at the beginning of the movie. When inside the movie, the mother looked quite right, given that teen characters were (and are) often played by older actors.

Have you ever watched an old slasher movie or, heck, any teen drama produced before the early aughts? It's called Dawson's Casting, and it was totally on purpose.

Their only mistake was not aging Malin up at the beginning of the film. Even a different haircut would have made a world of a difference.

The 2 main girls in Dawsons creek were actually teens. But usually earlier films or shows had 20s actors portraying teens, 1 from Greese, Clueless and 90210 was actually 30.
