Always Get a Laugh Out of...

In horror movies, when a woman is in trouble and one of her friends is a distance away searching for them. The entire time during the ordeal, the woman is screaming her head off, but somehow, the person searching for her hears absolutely nothing, until out of nowhere, he/she hears just one and only one perfectly-audible and clear scream.

It's like somewhere between the victim and her hero, all but one of her screams somehow got lost on the way to the person's ears.
