Not exactly, but damn he was creepy.

How old was the girl? 14? 14 is just ickkkkkk. 16 is more meh. He didn't seem too old, but his wife was a teenager when they got together too? So maybe it is a pattern? They showed him with a student too, I dunno.

But what a weird father, the way he apologised to Ginger about it and didn't even try to hide his weird affair or apologise and just copped out with "I'm not father material".

The age of consent was 16 at that time. And the fact that nothing was hidden doesn't make it creepy to me. The problem I had with this relationship was how oblivious both Rosa and Roland were to how it was upsetting Ginger. Very insensitive.

Who blamed the girl? Are you referring to the characters in the film or to public reactions? I think that in both cases people blamed mostly the father.

I had been confused in the past too. Pedophilia is being attracted to prepubescent boys or girls, and is a mental disease or disfunction. Being attracted to 17 years old, is actually called ...normalcy. Come on guys be honest. What this guy did was disgusting though. If I had a 25 year old daughter I would never date a girl of an age similar to my daughter, not to mention her best friend. This guy was scumbag, but obviously not a pedophile...

Agree about the idiotic use of the word "pedophile" but I don't really get how what he did was "disgusting". What difference does it make if he has daughter the same age or not? What does that have to do anything. Why do I get to have sex with Elle Fanning with impunity and he gets labled "disgusting" all because he had kids earlier than I did?

It's disgusting because he'd know Rosa since she was born. By all accounts she was in an out of their home while growing up. Africa (Ginger) viewed her as a sister and I believe her mother felt the same way. so yes it's super gross.

What's disgusting is Fanning was 13 when it was filmed. Why not use a real 17 year old? Oh wait... 17 year old beautiful actresses are really hard to find. My mistake.
