A wee gem

This is one of my favourite movies of the year. A wee gem of a movie, driven along by a startlingly good performance from Martin Compston, and beautifully complemented by Patrick Bergin's understated Arthur Thompson. Those actors who portray tough guys in the likes of 'Eastenders' could learn volumes by watching these guys. Exciting, realistic and gritty with not a weak performance in the entire cast. And probably made on a budget that wouldn't cover the cost of Stallone's hair dye. Watch it. Enjoy it. Tell them Big John sent you.
