If You Loved the Slapstick of SNATCH, You Will Love This Film!

About 1/3 of the way into this film, I went from smiling to laughing hysterically, like I did in SNATCH, the Guy Richie film. The writer/director gets all my kudos, but I have to say I was very disappointed that he did not mention in the extra interview, how much he owes to Snatch, for this film. (The bad guy with the bottle-thick glasses in SNATCH is the same bad guy(in Bali) in this film, saying some of the very same dialogue.) And I know the director delivered one of his real coups de grace when he had the bad guy in Bali (this actor's first name is actually Alan) talking on the phone to the main character, whose film name is Alan. There were so many Snatch-influenced scenarios, but the final car scene was especially brilliant.

Regardless of his not publicly acknowledging Richie in the Interview extra, it was terrifically enjoyable to laugh that hard. I have developed a strong appreciation for Scandinavian humor in the last decade or so. Adam's Apple and all that writer's comedies; Elling; Mifune;in fact, most of the few that make it to the U.S. on dvd. But this film may top them all, for total belly-laughs. What a kick-in-the-pants !!!

I can't wait to see other films he has done, if I can find them here.
