Wow... very good directing and editing of the action scenes. I loved it.

The guns sounded real and visceral. The shootouts were intense and grounded, none of that goofy stuff we get in one too many American films.

I originally thought the lead was too much of a softy, but his acting was solid and I actually, truly believed he was a skilled gun expert that wasn't quite a killer. The script really shined in this area because his naivete really did shine through bright and clear. The dichotomy between being an expert marksman and a lover of guns versus a killer is highlighted with veteran precision in this film.

The rating on IMDB is absolutely baffling to me, but I had to rate it as an 8 because there were no actual flaws in the film to detract it to the point where I was either bored or uninterested. The plot made sense, the action was cool, the plot twists were original and, for anyone who actually paid attention, it all came back around full circle to tidy itself up nice and neat.

The score was also superbly done. Great stuff.


The gun porn in this movie -- the attention to the weapon detail, discharge and bullet reactions -- reminded me a lot of the movie Sinners and Saints. Everyone in this film knew how to handle their hardware and I loved it.
