Why didn't they panhandle more?

I know Mister HATED to ask for help

But when they panhandled that one time, they had $17 for new door handles/locks, and money for burgers. I got impression it was from just the one time panhandling.

Sure, it'd suck to have to keep begging for money, but better than breaking into other peoples' apartments and stealing!

$20 a day could have fed them okay

Easy way to get caught by police. Kids panhandling with no parents around.
