I really liked the original “Tangled” and it is among my top 10 animated films of all time. So when I heard they were making a short, I was ecstatic. Another chance to revisit the characters, worlds, and humor. Did live up?

Basic plot summary: “The kingdom is abuzz over the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.”

The short starts off just like the movie, Flynn narrating the events that have happened and is about to happen with his sarcastic humor and all. It quickly cuts to the Kingdom getting ready for the royal wedding of the century. All the characters are present Rapunzel, Flynn, the thugs from the pub, and even that weird drunk old guy. All the characters retain their charm and appeal. However, it isn’t about them. Instead, it’s about the hilarious duo Maximus and Pascal, who apparently lose the wedding rings and have to retrieve it before the wedding is over.

Pascal and Maximus are just as funny as ever. They are well animated and keep their personalities. Animation is gorgeous and I didn’t see a drop in quality from the movie to this short. It’s colorful, fluid, and just great to look at. Overall the short is funny, can get pretty dynamic with quick cuts and some explosive scenes. I really like it and it gave us another chance to see these characters again. I was laughing throughout each situation the two got themselves into. I give it 4/5, fun little short that is both entertaining and hilarious.
