Why doesn't she just go home?

Henry tells Carrie she's an angel, then he takes her to a restaurant, explains her assignment, then walks away. If I were Carrie I would have thought "What a nutcase!" and gone home to my apartment. How come Carrie doesn't do that? Just asking...
