Are SRK's fans holding him back?

This is not the fault of SRK's fan in general. Indian audiences are just like this. Jab Tak hai Jaan, Don 2 and My Name is Khan, all of them were way better movies and SRK was way better in all those, but none of them did business even close to this one. Its not only the case with SRK's movies. Most of Salman's movies are nightmares and still do great business. Even his acting has degraded in last 5 years. Doesn't he has potential? Look at his acting in Tere Naam and Kyon Ki? Where did that guy go? Heck even Aamir is not untouched by this. Why? Why did he had to make Dhoom 3? Because Talaash didn't please the audience. Really, we Indians are the one who are dragging bollywood back. If actors like SRK, Aamir and Hrithik had their ways, we'll be standing toe to toe with Hollywood.

PS- Shahrukh is a better actor. Aamir's movies are better.

The trend was started in 2008 by aamir only when he remade ghajni.At that time it was the highest grossing movie of the year and in salman's case he has been doing all type of south remakes and doing business of crores . In case of SRK his first try is chennai express which is not a remake. I think these type of movies are in demand now as you can tell it from the collections itself . Its not the fan but its all about the star's ego that they are doing these type of movies repeatedly .
For instance SRK thought if everyone is doing then lets just give it a try and the result is chennai express. As these are the typical masala bollywood movies they are earning more and more. These days quality of cinema is dominated by star powers.
