No surprises there, then....

I had already read a book on the subject, so nothing really surprised me. But regardless, it's something I have suspected for many years.

The root of it, in my humble opinion, is the forced celibacy. Totally abnormal, and that rule is only ever going to create totally abnormal behaviour.

And the percentage of Catholic priests that diddle with kids, usually young boys, is just frightening - go look it up....

But hey ho - yet another show of the total hypocrisy of the Catholic Church. Indeed, pretty much any religion. But I am not getting into all that here!

Celibacy is not forced on Catholic priests. A Catholic man can be a layman minister, marry and become an ordained deacon. Thereafter, he can become a priest with a wife.

There's been an abundance of paedophile scandals within the Church of England. Protestant priest Robert Waddington sexually abused male youths for 5 decades which the Church of England's hierarchy habitually covered up. This fiend was shuttled throughout London, York, Manchester, Carlisle, and finally hidden away in Australia while the church did nothing to prevent his sexual misdeeds.

Prince Charles's good friend and frequent visitor to Buckingham Palace, ex-bishop Peter Ball, had been sexually molesting male youths for over 3 decades which the Church of England again habitually covered up. He has now served 32 months in prison and is a registered sex offender.

In 2012, ex-archbishop Lord David Hope resigned from the Church of England embarrassed over the ill-handling of the decades of paedophile scandals and cover-ups within the Church of England's hierarchy. Archbishop is the height of the hierarchy like the Pope is in Rome.

There is celibacy among Britain's Anglican monks and nuns. The Anglican nuns feel "god" is their husband. One wonders if Anglican monks feel the same way. Remarkably telling is that the majority of the 6% of Catholic cleric sex offenders have British Isles surnames. Naturally, it's the same within the Church of England (and Britain's famous BBC and its government. Hmmm...)
