What a bunch of BS

Its too bad that people with real medical issues will loose their right to weed because of of junkies with "insomnia " or "migraines".

They also claimed to be the largest medical marijuana shop in the world but they can't come up with 1.1 million. Sure they "donate" he money for services offed at their shop, but what are their salaries? Because they had some expensive clothing and eyewear for nonprofit employees.

I absolutely agree! These people are the reason why it will never be legalized for medical reasons. People don't want to see hippy stoners walking around high. I wish those dispensing it were not the sterotypes and mainly focused on those who have truly been medically helped. I don't give a rat's rear about the owner who needs it to calm down, boohoo to you, take a nice relaxing bath instead. There is a difference between those who truly need it to help with pain vs. people who don't know how to cope in the real world with their stress.

You have to be kidding me , these people are hiding behind a bull crap medical card , everybody knows that there is not real proof that this has any value at al , really did you look at these people? they go to a "doctor , give him 50 bucks for a card ( no one ever seems to get declined for one ) so now they can use to the card as a get out of jail card to use drugs for the their addiction , really now , they should be closed down !

I don´t want to be the dumb liberal hippy-stoner-pothead-junky who tells you that you are wrong but...yeah, actually I do want to be that guy! I will never try to convince you smart, non-judging people that cannabis is nothing else than a dangerous drug that doesn´t help anyone with anything, and, if there was such evidence, the liberal junky-potheads just ruins it for the people that need it for medical reasons by getting stoned just for the fun of it anyway--I will never try to convince you otherwise, but what I will try to get by you is the fact that just because you dont like it you bash it and everybody that uses it and labels them "junkys" which couldn´t be further from the truth..And that being said what is the harm for you if someone else decides to smoke some weed? Im actually beginning to wonder about your reasons to comment such mindless preaching comments about things you´ve obviously know little to nothing about..Is it genuine misguided consern about other peoples wellbeing? Im starting to think not, but then again what do I know, Im just a stupid junky-pothead out to ruin the world with my war-protest-songs and my hemp clothing............(Y)

Because it's soooo much better to go to your regular doctor and get him to write a prescription for vicodin or norco. Have you seen the side effects those pills cause? Compare that to the side effects of medical marijuana.

I googled it. It said you fu¢king blow

come on, they can't come up with 1.1 million dollars in a week.

here's a thought. why not just legalize it for real. we all know that the whole medicinal mj thing is kind of a front for the majority of people who just want to smoke weed. there is PLENTY of evidence that shows how medicinal mj helps people with various (real) ailments but to be frank, it's just a way around an outdated and flawed rule. the fact is that weed is literally less harmful than drinking and cigarettes. it should be legal and we all know it. the religious right in this country are stuck in the past and need to stop touting 'freedom' and 'patriotism' while hindering and controlling the lives of their fellow citizens. pot is not that bad. just get the eff over it.

reply

Wow, awesome way to stereotype. I am part of the religious right and I support it for medical reasons! As someone who is disabled and in pain, I know what that is like and if it can be used instead of heavy narcotics, I support it, so stop stereotyping, thanks!

Ug. Half of the problem with the way a many view pot is due to the BS propagated by the united states in the early 1900s and the BS that continued on for most of the century.

I always say there are two "miracle" plants. Bamboo and Marijuana.
If you knew how much you could possibly do with either one, then you would know why it would be absolutely asinine to limit their uses in anyway shape or form.

Insomnia, Migraines, ect. these are serious issues and for health reasons, anyone with these problems are much better off using a form of marijuana then they are taking some bogus pill that ends up causing liver failure, brain tumors, black-out episodes, ect. (just read the warning to some prescription pills that help with insomnia. It is also quite clear how you seem to underestimate how bad insomnia can be for the human body, so without going into details, simply google it and then tell me if you want to call people "junkies" for wanting to cure the problem. Same with migraines (what you never had a headache before? Times it by twenty and make it last for four days straight and see how clearly you think and how well you function).

As for the 1.1 million. They are a non-profit organization. The money they make is used to pay rent, worker wages, distributors, ect. and the rest they put right back into the community. Its as simple as that. They do not take half of it and put it in a bank for safe keeping just in case something happens. Thats now how non-profit organizations work.

I have to say, the option in California for pain medication, insomnia, depression, ect. (weed wars) is a much better option then what we have in Florida right now (super highly additive and deadly drugs like xanex, oxycoton, opiates, ect. - 14 ppl a day overdose and die in the Miami area on these drugs alone, how many from weed in Cali?)

Let me tell you about insomnia.

You can be so tired you can't function anywhere near your potential but you still can't get to sleep and when you do sleep it you are grateful even if it's just for a few hours.

I don't just mean tossing and turning for 2-3 hours I mean being up for 24 or more hours at a time (with no stimulants like caffeine).

It truly sucks.

Prescription and OTC drugs that I've tried are either ineffective or have too many side effects and have high potential for addiction - real addiction with physical withdrawal symptoms.

I'm fortunate that I almost never get headaches, but when I have any relief available is welcome and my understanding is that migraines are very real and much much worse than anything I have experienced. If marijuana provides relief for those who suffer from them then why shouldn't it be available to them?

What exactly is the problem here? Are you upset that some people may just be using their doctor's recommendations as an excuse to get high? Are you upset that these people are running a business while trying to stay within the law and making a living at the same time?

What's with the hate?

I found it quite humoring when the owner said something like "Every one of our employees is a patient as well". When i go to the pharmacy to get something for pain, i wouldn't want to talk to somebody who's constantly on medicine..

reply

How do you know you're not?

The only issue I see with the owner's statement is that he's essentially divulging medical information about his employees.

I am not sure, but I suspect that licensed pharmacists are bound by HIPAA which protects patient privacy while dispensaries might not be. (I'm no lawyer or health care expert).

reply

^Be that as it may, but they use term "patient" in this show to refer to a pothead.
