Honey Badger don't care

reply

did you really list quarantine/[rec] as one and the same? ouch.

reply

Well, I've never seen [rec]. I put it with Quarantine to be nice.

Honey Badger don't care

reply

Watch it. It's a better movie. Guess now it is ruined by your knowledge about Quarentine.

reply

[REC] feels like Quarantine's poor cousin. Everyone lies. Quarantine is the better film.

reply

"Everyone lies"

No, I would say "everyone" is quite right and you are wrong, since Rec is miles ahead of Quarantine.
If anything, Quarantine feels like drunk mans version of Rec.
There is a reason why the original is considered one of the best movies of its kind in years.
Ever wondered why majority likes Rec better?
One of the reasons would be better taste in movies than you.
Then again, thats really not saying much...

reply

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL funniest statement ever! I know i can't change your tastes and i don't want to do that, i respect them. But i can't help finding this hilarious. Cheers

reply

Very good list I must say, many old gems! The only thing that I find rather odd (though might be the outcome when browsing the PA forum) is that people actually like the Paranormal Activity movies. The first one I guess was decent, but the hype around it made it a huge disappointment. Hype aside, the movie had its moments but I didn't find it scary. I haven't watched PA4 yet but I assume it's going to be rather crappy. No bashing here, but it's too bad that you got to watch Quarantine before watching REC - a very good movie that according to me has a more authentic feeling than the American version.

reply

Hey Lord, L-O-V-E that you listed troll hunter. No one ever gets how awesome it is.

reply

01. Cannibal Holocaust
02. Rec
03. Cloverfield
04. Diary of the Dead
05. Paranormal Activity

hmmm... I can't think of any other decent ones. Trying to get to a "top ten" would force me to include movies I didn't really like to begin with, much less ever watch again.

1.Sinister

reply

um, sinister isn't a found footage film

reply

How the eff is it not a found footage film?!??
He found some footage in the attic of his house and that comprises the entire basis of the story. Also it is entirely what made the movie so disturbing and scary etc...

reply

A found footage film is a movie that is shot from the point of view of a video camera held by a character (1st person). Sinister is shot in the 3rd person, and therefore does not qualify as a "found footage" film.

reply

I get your point, but by the same token, Cannibal Holocaust falls into that category also, and THAT is honestly the best found footage film.

No, Sinister is not found footage. You are taking the term literal.

reply

He did find footage, and watch it, which is were most of the horror was.

reply

You don't seem to understand what the term "Found Footage" means.

reply

so vhs isnt found footage then either?

reply

Yes, because it is shot in first person with a hand held camera.....The term found footage isn't always literal lol.
Sinister isn't found footage.
They find video tapes in loads of films, that doesn't mean they are found footage.

In my case, 'best' would mean which film is the one least likely to make me want to nuke Hollywood. And I'm drawing a blank on that one.

4. Paranormal Activity

reply

Oh thank god you put "Megan is Missing" on you list. That movie transcends merely scary. The acting isn't the best but watch it all the way to the end (if you can) and you will be shaken up for days.

I could not agree more. I am not a person easily rattled at all from films.
But this one has literally scarred me for life! The last 10 minutes or so makes me want to vomit just thinking about it.
Literally.
I wish I had never ever seen it.
