What I have seen on youtube and on the Yamato2199.net website looks absolutely awesome. My question is, are they just doing the movie or are they going to redo the entire series?

There's also a Yamato 2199 TV series but that's a ways off apparently

Continuing series shown theatrically in Japan first, then released on DVD/Blu Ray shortly thereafter. First 2 episodes have been released. Nice thing is that they are subbed in English. I think there will be 7 discs total meaning 26 episodes. So far, a nice reworking of the original series...

They are re-making the entire season 1... not only improving the graphics and animation.. but the history is "corrected" to make it far more realistic and clever.. episodes 1-6 are out (7-10 in October) and so far im loving it inmenselly.. as said this series will be 26eps but wont follow religiosly the original series.. acording to creators "after ep6 everything changes" ..we will see
