But I couldn't even get through the trailer without turning it off. The premise is worn out and the music was annoying back in the 80's.

My only interest in seeing this was to see if Leona Lewis could act. I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD and fast forward through all parts she isn't in it...which seems like most of it.

She acts well, but she isn't given much to do. She doesn't appear much, her scenes are maybe a total of 7-10 minutes. She sings even less than 7 minutes altogether in the whole movie.
Unlike you, I do like the 80's music. Even more, I love musicals. But this movie is just awful.
