Filming order of Projects?

It does not seem sensible (to me) that the work is done in the order they are showing the episodes.

For example in the Tudor house series, that awful rotten roof should have been the first thing any reasonable person would have fixed first before doing all the work and finishing AND STAGING the other rooms.

Also, wouldn't you get all of the mess and dust and mold out of the whole house BEFORE any final staging is done?

February 2 or 4th begins the new rehab addict shows.

That's great, but it's not even close to what the OP was asking about.

I think they probably do the work in a sensible order, like putting in a new roof so the elements don't end up ruining or interfering with the work going on inside, and it's filmed as it happens but the episodes are out of order to heighten interest. If the first thing we see is a new roof being installed it may not hold the viewer's attention.

On most of these long-term rehab shows (Rev Run, Vanilla Ice, for example), work is going on all over the house at once. The episodes are edited to show one room at a time, but you can always spot changes in the background or as they pass through one room to get to another.

Build a man a fire, he's warm for a day. Light a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life!

Yes, the houses are renovated in a reasonable way. The show is edited to show you one or two rooms made over in each episode, presumably because it is easier for viewers to follow the work that is done. In one of the dollar house episodes, she states that she always does her floors last, so her work crews don't damage them after they've been refinished. She also works on more than one house at a time. With bigger projects, like Minihaha and the Summit Mansion, you will notice the seasons change from summer to winter and back again.
