Eggs get old, people

For all the advancements in medical treatment and reproduction, one thing remains the same: a women's eggs get old regardless of her personal health.

Meiosis and mitosis just don't take place with the same reliability that occurs in a woman's 20s.

I hear this every day from single women in their mid-30s - I even had one yell it to me one day as she came to the realization that 40 was right around the corner for her: "MY EGGS ARE GETTING OLD!!!"

It's not just humans, btw, but ANY form of life loses the capacity to reliably reproduce as an organism ages.

Sperm, strangely enough, does not age as bad as eggs.
