"Trey tells Donnie he sees himself playing lead guitar for 100,000 people at Madison Square Garden. The maximum capacity for a concert at Madison Square Garden is 20,000."

Are they really that picky? He obviously meant it to be over exaggerated and more pumped up then it was

Well, remember, it's not really a goof. Trey had never been there and was unaware of the capacity. It's the character's goof, not the writer's.

Yeah its definitely not a goof. If the movie was talking aobut a concert that had 100,000 in a 20,000 venue, it would be a good, but thats not what happened here.
