Who else was completely thrown to find out they made this in and around Detroit?

It proved to be a pretty convincing stand-in for Oklahoma, except for downtown Silverton (especially that prominent building sitting on a Y-junction) and one or two scenes where they are driving around and the roads are bendy. Everything in KS and OK is built on a grid.

Oh, and another thing: a vice-principal of an Oklahoma school is not going to live in that big and fancy a house!
