I don't know if anyone has brought this up. But if you look real closely when those guys are in the basement you can see that there are small canisters of film reels right below where the guy is sitting down. This could mean that these small creepy, weird, footage thing has been going on for a long time. It's possible that whoever had these film reels was at one point transferring them onto vhs. When we finally get to part 3, well it goes viral.
