Surprisingly Moving

I watched this film last night anticipating a silly comedy in which a film had been built around the burger joint "hold up" (which is the best part of the film). For the most part I proved myself right; but I was utterly shocked at how moving some of the scenes were with Susan Sarandon. Yes, alcoholic grandmother; hilerious, but from being in a situation similar to this in my life it really hit home. The grandmother standing on the podium and hurling abuse at Tammy was incredibly upsetting and I found myself getting quite emotional.

It does make me feel like there was a good film here, sadly overshadowed by silliness and slapstick.

I just couldn't buy into the characters quickly enough to be affected by that... There wasn't a single person in the movie I liked or was intrigued by.
