One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

It's laughably bad. I love that the city of LA is depicted as a ghost town in this movie. The best was the end when the movie took a bizzare zombie apocalypse turn and it looked as if the victims were getting ready to chow down on Elijah Wood. If only Wilfred was in this movie. Or perhaps this was a depiction of what happens to Ryan after he and Wilfred are no longer friends.

You clearly are too dumb to understand this movie if you think there were zombies.

Also, why is there always an idiot on every IMDb movie discussion board who declares it's 'the worst movie he or she has ever seen'? If this is the worst movie you've ever seen then you haven't seen many movies.

Troll.

reply

Why is everyone a troll just because they hate a movie? Are there no movies you hate? Have you never gone on a board and declared your hate?

Congratulations. You have won first place for the most idiotic comment on the internet ever. He never said they WERE zombies, only that the ending did something similar to zombies by having the scene with his victims tearing his face off.

"Hear me now! This place is cursed, damned, and yes your master is the devil!"

reply

True. And he actually wrote, "ONE of the worst" he has ever seen. So reading comprehension was an issue for the poster as well.

reply

I did not mean zombies, literally. I know they were not zombies, I am not an idiot. I simply meant that's what that bizzare ending reminded me of, a zombie like feasting, moron.

Also where do you get of being mad at me for decided its the worst movie I have ever seen? That is a complete matter of opinion, idiot. I have seen many, many movies and even if I haven't I can still say its the worst movie I have ever seen. Because frankly in my opinion, it is. It may not be everyone's least favorite. But I thought it was absolutely awful. Your opinon may be different and that's fine. Many people say "Gigli" was the worst movie ever made. Well I bet you there are people out there who genuinely love it.

So yes. Maniac is the worst movie I have ever seen, you ass.

It was in New York

You're either exaggerating or haven't seen nearly as many movies as you think you have. Maniac isn't very good but it's no Scarecrow Slayer either.

What a lovely way to burn...

As I stated before, there is a thread like this on every film page on this site.

Youre exactly right and its so annoying. Definitely trolls. I thought this movie was excellent in many ways. Would def recommend if youre into scary/disturbing/brutal --

reply

I totally agree with you. It was so bad and poorly filmed, I pulled it up on Netflix and at first I just kept scrubbing forward due to the boringness (if that's a word) of it, then I finally just had to turn it off. BORING, BORING, BORING. and it's filmed like a B movie. I got the sees that they were trying to bring out the Elijah Wood from Sin City but it failed.
Total, utter failure of a film.

you're a *beep* toolbag and have no taste in film. Maniac was one of technically strongest entries in the genre in perhaps a decade.

reply

Well, I guess there's a lot of 'tools' in the world because this movie earned:
6.1 IMDB star system
47 meta score
48 Tomatometer

Majority rules in Hollywood.

reply

That's just because people tend to get overly offended by nudity (especially Americans) and/or violence toward women. Under The Skin is another movie that is undoubtedly technically amazing, but gets hammered in the ratings because people can't see beyond the sexual aspects of it...

reply

Well I'm coming to you from Germany so it's not even in my DNA to be offended by nudity and violence towards women in a film. Are the above scores I mentioned American scoring systems or international? Because American movies are loved worldwide. Even I like them more than most German films. If they are American scores than you may have a valid point but if they are international...then the movie is bad like I said.
Just my opinion :-)

Are you kidding me with the American thing??? Americans are not offended by nudity. So sick of reading that on IMDb.

reply

It's a steaming pile of *beep*

reply

Haha, i agree, it just reeks of B movie from beginning to end. The acting's bad, the madness taking over Wood's character is just ridiculous, it was plain bad the whole way through.

Actually, once you get that it's gonna sµck the whole time, it can turn into a pretty funny movie, it's so bad it's actually entertaining : )

The only thing i liked was the mannequins, they were beautiful.
But c'mon, who would live off having an old mannequins shop...?!?

reply

There's always one who starts a thread with that exact title on every board for every movie that you could think of.

What's funny is that you suggest a zombie apocalypse would make this film better, perhaps one of the most abused sub-genres at the moment. We have zombie apocalypse movies coming out of our ears, we don't need another one!

reply

Clearly it's not your kind of movie. For those of is that love slashers this oboe is absolutely superb.

It's also so far from being the worst film ever it's not even funny. You must not watch a lot of horror films.

reply

That's funny. Wilfred would have been sniffing and eating the decaying mannequins though.

reply

If this is one of the worst movies you've ever seen, then that's incredible because this is a pretty good one.
