She does need good co stars
Think all of Jet Li's hollywood movies in the early 2000s (the one, cradle 2 grave, kiss of dragon, romeo must die etc), Jet always had fairly big name co stars
At this point, probably so. Well I think has had more exposure and success than Cynthia ever had. Hollywood and the general public has always been somewhat resistant to truer female action stars until more recently. Gina should probably be on her 4th or 5th movie by now, so there is clearly some resistance to her. I think Haywire underperforming so much, set her back. The recent and decent success of Scarlett in Lucy, may help open up some Hollywood minds.

Cynthia Rothrock never seemed legitimately tough. She may have been, but I struggled to believe it in her films.
