I actually kind of excited about the sequel

I didn't like the first film at all, I didn't think it was a good film, and when I heard of a sequel I was just about to write it off, until I found out who was writing this follow up, Irvine Welsh (author of Trainspotting & Filth) is the the films writer. Okay, this film now has my attention. I have a feeling Welsh will write a smarter, better film due to that fact that 1. He's a way better writer. 2. I think this kind of movie could work better as a dark comedy, like Filth. So I'm kind of excited, but it's still a Spring Breakers follow up and Welsh could turn up a dud, I'm hoping for the best though.

The original Spring Breakers pretty much was a dark comedy if you don't take it too seriously. It's essentially a riff on the mindless spring break party mentality, and you can't help but laugh at Franco's over the top character sometimes. Irvine Welsh might turn out something good, but I'm sure how he's going to steal someone else's idea and how he's even going to call it a Spring Breakers movie without the original cast, as I can't see Franco returning (and his character is dead) or the other cast either.

You didn't get that "Spring Breakers" itself was a dark comedy?
