I really loved yu yu Hakusho and DragonBall Z. I just happened to stumble apon this and I have never heard of it before and I was hoping to get some insight from some of the fans of this show. Thankz

I've seen all three of them, Yu Yu Hakusho is very good, Dragon Ball Z is great,
and Hunter x Hunter 2011 is the Greatest Anime ever made.
also, the guy that wrote Yu Yu Hakusho ( Togashi ) is the same guy that wrote Hunter x Hunter.
Yu Yu Hakusho is an amazing show, probably the second best shounen ever made but only behind Hunter x Hunter (2011).
I'd say HxH wins over YYH because it has a lot more variety. With the addition of "Nen" it makes the show a whole lot interesting. HxH also is so good at changing the whole atmosphere. What starts off as a light-hearted show becomes so gruelling later on. The Chimera Ant arc is probably the greatest arcs to ever come out of a shounen. Its ironic because it breaches the boundary of what the genre even means.
I don't think so. This show fell apart for me at the Chimera Ant Arc. Very boring, very slow paced, all over the place and one of the most anticlimactic endings I've ever seen in a series. After all that, I was hoping they were at least setting up a powerful future rival for Gon, but it's as if the author lost interest. Wasn't too impressed with the Chairman election arc either.
Was kind of disappointed with Greed Island as well. Should've stuck with the premise of Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio being a four-man team of sorts going on adventures. They're all pretty good characters, but I think the author simply makes it up as he goes.
