Enjoyed this one thing kind of bugged me

How can Bradley Coopers character keep up with a guy who has raced professionally and is driving a Corvette for anything like the length of time he did at those speeds? If you've raced you know that's not going to happen. Concentrating through all that adrenaline let along the shear anger he had while maintaining that level of car control is ludicrous. Yes it made for a good series of chase scenes but when they specifically fill in the characters background as a professional racing driver, to then not have him just drive away from the bad guy isn't right.

That's what bothered you about this? The unrealistic driving? Not Tom Arnold's magic gun that spontaneously fired 6 shots because he ran off the road into a pasture? Not the magic bowling ball that, when Tom Arnold hit the brakes, went flying some 80-100 feet? Not Bradley Cooper's magic gun magazine that holds 60 rounds? Not Dax's magic nose that recovered in 30 seconds from being broken with a golf club? Not the incredible convenience of having a huge, purposeless dirt ramp outside the barn with cars parked conveniently in front of the ramp so the 700 horse power weirdsmobile could jump them?

What bothered you was that an untrained driver in a far inferior car could keep up with a trained driver in a better car? I mean... I think you're right to say it's very unrealistic, but wasn't that the whole tone of the movie? Completely absurd happenings that require constant and undiminished suspension of disbelief?

When I was your age, television was called books!

I was going to create the same topic. It annoyed me how a racer in high powered sports cars couldnt get away from stock cars immediately.

Bradley Cooper was driving a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V while Dax was driving a 2010 Corvette Grand Sport. The caddy actually has over 100 more HP and lb-ft of torque than the vette. Both cars' 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are less than a half a second apart so it's not at all unreasonable that it holds it's own against a vette at least from a vehicular Standpoint. Cooper's friend even says "I can't believe this is a *beep* station wagon. This *beep* is so fast."

As per driving skill don't forget Dax has been out of the game for four plus years at this point, he's probably a little rusty. Also Cooper might just have been having a good day or who knows, maybe he took a few driving lessons after he was finished getting butt******.

However, Gill keeping up with Dax's 700hp big block Continental in a Pontiac Solstice for as long as he did is beyond laughable.

Some day you will die somehow and something's gonna to steal your carbon.
