Joy was SHADY!!!!!

Although Joy was supposed to represent Happiness, I thought she was the shadiest emotion ever. I literally felt like she was doing whatever she needed to do get up to the top and I felt like she was doing whatever she needed to do to keep Riley happy...INCLUDING leaving Sadness in another area by herself. It was like, "Why would you leave her there, Joy? What's wrong with you?" I really felt for Sadness and it was probably because she was my favorite character. Matter of fact, I could relate to her on so many levels because just like her, I have a tendency to apologize for everything. But, yeah, Joy was just shady!!!

Joy couldn't do anything that Riley wouldn't allow. Riley made a conscious or maybe even subconscious decision to make Joy her dominant emotion while suppressing Sadness. Although shown to be sentient for entertainment value, the emotions are incapable of making decisions that would only benefit themselves.

"If life is getting you down and needs uplifting, then please come dance with me!"

As other have said. Inside out is a representation in a metaphorical sense of Riley and her feelings. She wants to keep being happy and repress sadness. But the think is that joy wasn't the right emotion to be felt at the time. That's why she lost control. If she had embraced sadness from the beginning none of the mess wouldn't have happened.

Joy didn't see the error of her ways until every emotion and memory of this girl was destroyed. Joy couldn't understand why sadness was needed.

She was aggressive, but I think she had to be. With four negative emotions and only one positive one it would have been impossible for Riley to ever be happy if Joy didn't constantly assert herself.

Sadness should have been dropped into the pit, when the first island fell. Why did Joy save here? 25% of Joys problems could have been eliminated

HAHA. Without sadness there can't be joy - vice versa. Light and darkness. Good and evil. etc
