I found it so much better after feeling disappointed from the first viewing. Not as good as the first sure but it's a worthy sequel. Shame neither the soundtrack nor the score isn't that great which was one of the highlights of the original.
Easily the best Carrey film since Eternal Sunshine for me.
That doesn’t surprise me.
I’ve just seen it and I’m unusually good at sensing when a film is over or under hyped. This is a very worthy sequel and time will be very kind to it.
Had the same experience with Superman Returns - I always thought it was excellent (despite a rubbish Lois Lane and unnecessary kid plot) and it’s now getting the recognition it deserves. Similarly, could tell Man Of Steel was a stinker and now everyone’s catching up.
Other examples - Villeneuve is overrated, Blade Runner 2049 was pretty but mostly empty and dull as dishwater.
History will be very kind to David Lynch’s Dune when people compare it to Villeneuve’s bland version.
Sunshine will eventually be regarded as a modern classic.
The 2015 Vacation movie is excellent.
