TV Series on netflix or prime or a big network?

Firstly

I love the series of games.

I really want the movie series to be as successful. However would it not be better to have this as a series? I know they are expensive to make but it seems that's were all the success is right now.

TV and streaming are huge markets.

Examples (Game of Thrones, Blacklist, gotham etc everyone talks about them, everyone watches them. They are just everywhere.)

I think that given the content and story telling they would be in a much better position with a series to tell the story properly instead of trying to cram it into a 2 hour movie or even a possible trilogy.

A proper tv show could be amazing. It had to be on HBO, Netflix or Starz in order to fully embrace all elements of the games. I would definitely watch it.

If they can't get a video game adaptation right in the form of a feature length film, then what makes you think they will magically get it right in the form of a TV show? I wouldn't trust any of them with video games with a ten foot pole at this point.

I just think doing a two hour movie gives very limited time in which to tell the story. If they were doing it as a series even with 10 episodes they would have 10 hours to really take time over the little details that otherwise end up on the cutting room floor of a movie.

I fully agree that video game adaptions have been up to this point complete *beep* :) I can't really think of one that really caught me and that I watch again and again.

Maybe though that has been the problem all along. They're trying to cram everything into a short space of time. Surely it would be worth someone taking a chance on. Could well be the difference but we may never know.

2 hours and 20 minutes are more than enough to tell a story.

Nolan, I love you forever!

I agree. It's a very limited time. They could tell a much bigger and better story in a 10 or 13 episode tv show.
