Question about the Soundtrak of Jed Kurzel.

I'm wondering if any of you would rather like a brand new and fresh soundtrack (which it would be), or a new soundtrack combined with themes of the saga? Any theme you would like to hear in the movie?

Personally speaking, I would like to hear any of those tracks (I know these tracks belong to a respective theme, but the sound matches perfectly in the movie):

_ City of Jerusalem (from Assassin's Creed very first game)
_ Ezio's family (from Assassin's Creed II)
_ Flight over Venice (from Assassin's Creed II)
_ City of Rome (from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood)
_ Echoes of the roman ruins (from AC Brotherhood)
_ Villa under attack (from AC Brotherhood)
_ Fight Club (from Assassin's Creed III)
_ Rather death than slavery (from Assassin's Creed Unity)

What are your choices?

Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Revelations remains my favorite sountracks in the game series. I'd prefer to hear an original soundtrack from Jed, but with some slight allusions or hints on the themes from games (Ezio's family, especially, cause it's considered to be the best-known theme of the series). I don't think that there will be combining, cause the film's crew understands, and I think that anyone should get over it and understand it as well, that the music for the games was written specifically for this games, to fit their themes, their atmosphere, their ideas. And though the film is set in the same universe, it might be different in terms of themes, atmosphere, ideas, and overall tone. So I think that there will be an original soundtrack, probably using some motives (not entire music) from some of the game's melodies. Yes, it's perfectly possible.

My favorite tracks from AC II and Revelations soundtracks are:

From II (all by Jesper Kyd):
- Earth
- Venice Rooftops
- Ezio's Family
- Tour of Venice
- Darkness falls in Florence
- The Animus 2.0

From Revelations:
- Assassins Creed Theme by Lorne Balfe
- The Road to Masysaf by Lorne Balfe
- A Heated Discussion by Lorne Balfe
- We Talk Together by Lorne Balfe
- Of Life and Death by Lorne Balfe
- An Unsubtle Approach by Lorne Balfe
- The Hidden City by Lorne Balfe
- Mastermind by Lorne Balfe
- Investigation by Jesper Kyd
- You Have Eard Your Rest by Lorne Balfe
- Passing the Torch by Lorne Balfe
- Scheduled for Deletion by Lorne Balfe (this specific track I think could really match some action sequence in the movie)
- Altair and Darim by Lorne Balfe
- Labored and Lost by Lorne Balfe
- Reunion by Lorne Balfe
- Enough for One Life by Lorne Balfe
- Abstergo Industries by Lorne Balfe (I would love to hear something similar in tone in the movie's Abstergo's musical theme)
- The Hunter by Lorne Balfe
- On The Run by Lorne Balfe
- Find the Target by Lorne Balfe
- Welcome to the Fond by Lorne Balfe (this track can actually be used in a movie as some inside-Abstergo musical theme)
- Chase the Target by Lorne Balfe
- Venezia by Lorne Balfe
- Let the Chase Begin by Lorne Balfe
- Sienna by Lorne Balfe (might be used in a movie too)
- Tracking Templar by Lorne Balfe
- On A Kill Streak by Lorne Balfe
- The Pursuit by Lorne Balfe
- San Donato by Lorne Balfe

Though, I think I like Revelations better, maybe. It's a true masterpiece of game soundtracks. And I think this is the one which actually might use Jed a big, because it's the most cinematic and dramatic soundtrack of them all.

You've also picked up some great music!

I also love the soundtracks from Black Flag, especially shanties (Drunkin Sailor gives me goosebumps) and from Rogue One, but I don't have the music, I've only liked it playing the games, so I can't tell the specific tracks.

As you might see by my comments in the track list, I can see how Jed might use some stuff from the games' music, but only for the modern-day, mainly, because in games and in the movie modern-day is actually the same thing, but historical part was different.

Nolan, I love you forever!

That's what I thought as well, it will be fresh, but it would be great to include, even in a minimal way, hints of previous games music. I hope that Jed Kurzel creates music with great epicness that makes justice to the saga.

reply

I hope for that as well, but if hear the Macbeth score its pretty epic.

This sig is mine...

I'm pretty sure they're making their own score. Justin said he's been collaborating with his brother, creating Spanish percussive drum and modern synth sounds

reply

I think all the productions (games and movies) deserve exclusive soundtracks, as they all have their own story and atmosphere. About this movie: I hope they make the soundtrack for the scenes that take place in the past appropriately non-modern. What I read above about synths... Hoping that's for the scenes in the present.

reply

It's for the present and they're making efforts to try to appropriately blend the two, adding to the parallels in the film

reply

Oh sweet that sounds really good.
