About the "Artifact" and cliffhanger

When we saw the "Leap of Faith" featurette, there was a shot of Torquemada holding the fruit of Eden / The Artifact, or whatever you want to call it. The trailers on the other hand, didn't spoil anything about this fact. How important do you think this item will be in the movie?

Since there are plan for sequels, do you think the movie will end in a cliffhanger? If so, how would you like it to end that suits for a good introduction on the sequel?

Yes, this will be a pretty important artifact in the film, I guess. Maybe the most important one, but I doubt it, I think there will be something else, cause the Apple was features enough in the games. Maybe it will be the main artifact of the past timeline (with Aguilar fighting Torquemada for it), but in the present there should be something else.

There will be a little cliffhanger in the end, but not the post-credits scene. I think it will be similar to the tease of The Joker at the end of Batman Begins. If you want more specific, I would say that Jeremy Irons' character dies towards the film's climax (cause some villain should die, and I don't think Torquemada's death will be enough), and in the ending we see Sophia, his daughter, becoming the new CEO of Abstergo Industries.

Nolan, I love you forever!
