After using gay media to promote this show

Goyer is sailing into a third season, and has removed any pretense that he straight-washed DaVinci.

Tom Riley went to the Back Lot website, and talked about how they were going to "explore" DeVinci's sexuality, then bitched and complained about gay fans. Then he issues an apology--during a second interview--where he said the next episode would be super-duper gay. But it wasn't.

But it did give Goyer the ratings he used to secure a second season.

I hope Riley and Goyer die in a grease fire.

I can see how many people would be upset over the "straight washing" of a gay character but as far as we know there is no concrete evidence that Da Vinci was gay or even bi-sexual.

All we have is speculation. The show said it best when Da Vinci told his male lover that he's "curious by nature" and that "no one defines" him. The show seems to imply that Da Vinci's sexual acts (female and male) are just about curious fun and nothing else. His relationship with Lucrezia seems like a genuine love but in the season 2 finale the idea is brought up again about him even being capable of love.

David Goyer said that they wouldn't be shying away from Da Vinci's bisexuality but there wouldn't be a plot line for it in season 2. To just throw it out there for no reason would just be "gratuitous". Tom Riley even stated before season 2 aired that Da Vinci "doesn't really sleep with anyone" this season because "his quest trumps everything else" and that there might be something there with him and Zoroaster.

There was talk that his bisexuality would be explored further in season 3 by David Goyer but that comment was made last year and Goyer has since stepped down as show runner.

Some fans might be upset that Da Vinci's bisexuality isn't explored further this season but it's not like it was erased completely. He and Zoroaster did have some moments this season that had me wondering where the two were going to end up (the episode where Da Vinci almost kisses Zo). I agree with Riley in that Da Vinci's quest really did take over everything for the character.

If you can put aside all the negative comments and controversies and just enjoy the show for what it is I'm pretty sure you would enjoy it. I for one can't wait for season 3.

The gay mafia would love Leonardo to be gay or bi, they just need to accept the 'idols' they have already got.
