nice film, here are my characterization beefs - if you complain about spoilers, that's on you, bub.

Banker - very smart, clever fellow - talks himself in the grave by telling Hank he knows all about his back-story with Quantrille, et al. However, Banker did hint that he recognized Hank at Joe's funeral, so Banker may have reckoned he was a goner anyhow - but that's a bit overly intricate.

Wade - very smart, clever fellow - talks himself in the grave by insisting his murderous (but quite sexy) little sister, who is pointing a rifle at his head, go before a judge, leaving behind freedom and many thousands of 1870 dollars for a noose, which he knew darn weil she was disinclined to do, having already murdered their father for getting in her way.

neither truly 'had to be done'
