This movie had low ratings her but they jumped up after Walker's death

Sory guys, but there should be no sympathy when it comes to movie ratings because that will fool the people who want to watch the movie.

This movie had low ratings before Walker's death but suddenly they jumped up after his death.

Will he be another Heath Ledger who was awarded oscars just because of his tragic death?

Yes , It's possibly a factor in the rating climb . I guess I have to see it because It's the only way to know . Sorry such a young person has lost his life .

I'm with you. I think this simple movie is worth 5,5 tops. I am not considering any death factor, just the movie.

This is why Dark Knight is like number 5 people will feel guilty if they dont like or dislike it knowing the main star died/didnt get the chance to see the final cut so they will give higher mark

Lol, you can't be serious ! I don't know a single person who uses Imdb ratings as a factor in deciding to watch a movie. Rating systems in general are flawed, they should be taken with a grain of salt. You are better off reading the reviews of several movie critics. At least they have seen enough films and have enough experience writing reviews to provide a more helpful review.

i use both the ratings along with a few user reviews. sometimes i have to look at a few more user reviews if im not sure. Dont think i ever looked at a professional reviewerr reviews though. If the rating is above 6 and change then ill usually watch it. only watch bigger name films and ones in genres that i like or has a nice movie star i like in it if its 5-6 rating. i stay away from things under 5 almost always. this movie has paul walker in it and i like the films he was in. i will put this on watch list for when i dont have other better movies to watch and watch it. if its horrible i will just fast forward through it if i have something else to do.

I agree. I never use IMDB's rating system as a deciding factor on whether I watch a movie or not. I find that some movies with the lowest ratings are the best, and some with the highest ratings aren't. I don't need ratings to tell me whether a movie is good or not, when I'm quite capable of making my own decisions.

Agreed I prefer to make my own decisions. Now netflix ratings I generally trust though. I haven't watched one 2 star movie that I've liked.

I think 6.5 is a fair rating for this film. When I originally saw that it only had 5.5, I thought that was a bit too low. It's a decent thriller that passes the time nicely, but gets a bit lost towards the end.

What you just base what movie to watch and enjoy based on the ratings? Are you dumb or just plain stupid to let ratings decide things for you?

As long as you enjoyed the movie the rating doesn't matter.

Next time decide for yourself.

I went in to watch the movie without any prior expectations about the subject, and I was impressed by Paul Walker's performance in it, who had been more well known as an action actor. This movie belongs to the same genre as "127 hours", "Cast Away", "Robinson Crusoe", "Buried", "All is lost" and the like, which are basically one-man shows taken place in single-location backgrounds, but this one stands way above the others, IMO, all thanks to Walker's brilliant display of emotions and intensity, which I find very engaging and touching. "Hours" is a drama for mature people, so those looking for action and witty banters characteristic of the "Fast and Furious" movies would be disappointed. "Eight Below" and this one are my most favorite Walker movies. I will always remember you fondly, Paul, for your easy charms and down-to-earth demeanors on screen, someone I can readily relate to. Rest in peace, my friend.
