So since this bombed in theaters,

it's now be marketed as an Amazon original?!

reply

Gee no advertising and no theaters. Wonder why it bombed?

No! That's not true at all, Elvis takes 50% of everything I earn!

It was always an "Amazon Original" in a sense, since it's an original film produced by Amazon. I doubt they ever thought this was going to bring huge box office.
It was probably released in theatres in order to be eligible for awards and to garner any publicity it might pick up along the way.

Good point.

Yes, that is what I thought.

Jeff Bezos recently surpassed Warren Buffett and is the second richest man in world. Forbes just upgraded Buffet to the #2 spot again but they are very close.

I liked the film.

The casting was interesting. At first glance I thought Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey were miscast. They are both wonderful actors and did well.

Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley were both the same height- 5'11 1/2". If I didn't know that I wouldn't have noticed the large height difference between Shannon and Spacey.

Not a big deal. Perhaps 2 different actors would have been better. Some think the 2 leads were miscast.

I enjoyed the film.

It didn't bomb. It didn't exactly excel, either. Especially in the U.K. But it done so-so business. No more. No less.

It didn't bomb. Are you delusional? It made a million bucks. It bombed bigger than Hiroshima. The movies absolutely sucked and was mis-casted.

The very definition of a bomb is a movie that COST more than it made. This indeed was a HUGE bomb and was just a tax write-off. Don't be delusional.
