So the girl was annoying. Have you all forgotten how annoying the girl was was in "The Blair Witch Project?" Anyway, the annoying girl wasn't the problem with the movie. Problem was that they are a bunch of idiots because when they broke into the guy's house and saw all of those guns, I would've taken the shotgun and pistol, and held the child predator at gunpoint until the cops arrived. Or I would've killed the sicko if I had to. But they leave the guns where they are, and later are killed. Idiots.

Another thing, Being that the police were taking their sweet time, I would've done something in the neighborhood for the neighbors to call the police on me. That way, the police would've got their faster, and I wouldn't have to go into the house.

First thing I thought when they found the loaded guns was, take the bullets/cartridges out! Wouldn't have taken long at all. Less time in fact than they took getting that bloody cage open.

That's what I was thinking. You know the guns are loaded, empty the cartridge. Don't just leave it there knowing this guy will be home in a matter of minutes. But in the end, the guy had a gun with him and Nate blindly grabbing a loaded gun to shoot the predator was the only thing that saved the little girl.

It was textbook Chekhov's gun but I was also really annoyed by how that played out. Anyone with gun safety training knows that a weapon in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they're doing (Nate) can be more dangerous than being held at gunpoint. There are a million things that could have gone wrong and I hate that naive people think they can just pick up a gun and have instant protection. No, chances are you'll hurt yourself before you defend anyone.

I agree with you that they should have used the guns.

Cops take forever in real life too even in situations like this. A girl was abducted by a pimp in Ohio once,Her father found out were she might be so him and one of his friends drove to the house and called the police and even after an hour they are still not there,so the Father decides to go into the house with a weapon to get his daughter,once he is in the house he finds his daughter and they leave the house but he is attacked once he is out of the house by like 5 or 6 guys,neighbors are calling the cops but nothing,it takes the cops like an hour to get there,the guy survived but he was beat up pretty badly and the cops tried charging him with breaking and enter but dropped the charges after they realized what happened

So that's why cops always show up at the end of a movie, right after everyone's dead, except the lone survivor who has just killed the main bad guy.

Exactly! When he found the gun, I was like, "Yes, now they have a weapon when he gets back!" But then he just puts it back. I was so confused by that. It wouldn't have made sense if he was trying to hide that they were there because the girl had already broken a window...
