Vanessa Del Rio

Probably the hottest porn star of the '70s - she started in '74 - and her episode just aired. Great fun with Artie Lange as Dave's comedy guest and as many problems as Artie has, I must say his comedy has not suffered for it. When he needs to come up with a one liner on the spot he does it with speed and style. I think Vanessa was a little taken aback by some of it, but she was a great sport nonetheless and is still a beautiful woman all these years later. I have to say her work from back in the day is some of the hottest, steamiest and most enthusiastic to come out of the 1970s and much of the '80s as well. They just don't make 'em like Vanessa anymore. She's one of a kind. Jerry Butler's book Raw Talent goes into great detail about their relationship and the fact that civilians would have lined up for days just to get a chance to meet Vanessa Del Rio in her prime. He called her his hands down favorite porn vixen of all time. She was the ultimate seductress and her work in adult films is now the stuff of legend. For those who are not familiar with Vanessa's work, I highly recommend visiting some retro sites. Dave has a great collection of clips though and just like Ginger Lynn, Vanessa's attitude about those days is great. She's funny, articulate, insightful and the real Jenny from the block if you ask me. She's entertaining and reflective about her porn bombshell days and she admits plainly that she had the time of her life. Dave comes up with some of the best jokes of the entire first two seasons but I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen this episode yet. Artie and Dave have a little too much fun so Vanessa doesn't get to relay as much history as some might like but overall, very high score for this episode. This one and the Ginger Lynn ep are not to be missed if you're a fan of the show. Keep up the good work, Dave.
