A few really dumb things but actually really liked this.
Really liked something about this movie, it was let down by some stupidity re the science, but quite excellent in other ways.
shareThe build up in this movie up towards the big reveal of their dire situation is excellent I think. The acting, the exploration, slowly revealing what have happened. Excellent, excellent stuff I think. I was highly entertained.
Oh how I wish they had focused on this the entire time.
But oh no.
I felt the whole subplot of him having visions of his wife was an akward and misplaced thing in this film. They should have skipped that whole thing.
I feel the wife subplot could have instead become him actually getting to fully understand that his family is dead. Maybe they could have written it so she could possibly be in one of the other rooms of the facility, but her in that tank all of a sudden..too convenient and she became a very one dimensional character that brought nothing to the movie itself.
They could still have made use of him watching the photo of his wife, however, creating the toxic situation between him and his friend, when he discovers this. But the writers should not have walked into the so overused "now we fight each other" development if you ask me. It's boring and it feels like rushed storytelling. Rather the tension could have come just because he *did* in fact lie to his friend and it could have created some kind of mistrust between them. But still they would have had to *get their act together* because of the reality of their situation.
I had liked to have seen the writers and director sticking to that story the whole time.
Oh and then they even completely ruined it with the horrifyingly rushed ending. It should have ended when he says something like "all I got is time" or what that line was.
THE END.
Instead they bring in this "happy ending" that felt completely misplaced with how this movie builds up.

All valid, good points. I really think this movie come close to being great but for some fairly simple fixes.
shareYa just watched it. It does have its good points. I loved the setting, the acting was good, interesting characters. First half or more was really cool. Then the movie took this weird turn of a back and forth mess with a twist thrown in.
Their relationship was odd to. Do they like each other? Hate each other? Very odd dynamic.
The ending was unnecessary. They could have just ended it when he went into the pod saying something like "it's just me now". Very tacted on ending of him and his wife.
