They left out that Texas' bulk purchase of textbooks influences the US

I don't believe the movie made a good enough point that because Texas buys so many textbooks, the versions they dictate and receive are the same versions other states get, too. That means that the Texas textbook that tries to present evolution as science will not only end up in Texas, but in Georgia, Alabama, Connecticut, Oklahoma, etc. That is the most disturbing aspect of this documentary, and yet it was barely emphasized. The reason the creationists are bringing in outside professional advocates for their inclusion of false science is because if they win in Texas, they win all over America.

They spend a good 10 minutes in the beginning of the doc explaining this and how detrimental it is to the education system in the entire country.

I disagree with you though the most disturbing aspect for me was seeing these religious nuts push their far-right agenda in Texas'(therefore the nations) education system.

Yeah it laid it out very clearly right at the opening: CA and TX are the biggest buyers of text books, so they make them for those states and everyone else just kind of has to go along with it.

I wish they had, but they didn't. If they did, mentioning it in passing at the start wasn't enough as it didn't leave an impression. It should have been mentioned every few minutes, honestly.

I question your logic. It is MORE disturbing that Texas' can influence the rest of the country's children. Anything questionable that gets in there gets in everywhere. Is that too hard to understand?

Think of it this way, you're bothered by religious people forcing their views on Texas. Fine. Now imagine that they get to spread their views 100x as much with their influence in the textbooks. Understand why that's scarier now?
