Gogol's "The Nose" as adapted by retards.

I like that you thought that was worth posting multiple times, as if there's any chance at all that anybody missed how pompous and self-important you are the first time around.

I'm glad SOMEBODY took notice. And here I tough I was self-promoting for naught. What a relief! BTW I think I posted this comment twice. The reason why I did so was the following: The first time I wrote it was as a reply to this "Based On"..." thread - the movie's "concept" brought that Gogol tale to mind and I tough they were doing a tongue-in-cheek adaptation of gogol's shoret story. Then I noticed there was another thread in which someone claimed that the idea for this movie was a ripoff from some other movie, so I figured I'd make it clear that those starkidz idea was not original to begin with at all, that there was a short story that preceded their concept by several centuries, just with a different organ. My exact reply was this: "Don't worry. I won't spend money on this... or time. But I regret to inform you that the same goes for "Me and My Dick" - both strike me as a version of Gogol's "The Nose" as adapted for and by total retards."
That being said, Gogol's later short stories are anedoctic, surreal and quite amusing, being very little pretentious. For example, The Nose relates a story in which a vain civil officer wakes up without a nose - he latter spots his organ running around town in a carrige wearing a officer's uniform and cape and pursues it. As you can see, the concept is very much the same and the story, just as Gogol's other stories, are far from self important or poh-faced. Read his "Petersburg stories" and you'll see what I mean . If I wanted to seem pretentious I'd try to reference a more "serious" author. I am just telling it like it is.
And BTW, I bet that if I had referenced a movie instead of a literary work you would not sugggest that I was acting self important at all. But because I am referencing a literary work for some reason you immediately acuse me of acting pompous - to me that's just odd and suggests a misguided inferiority complex - just saying...
