This was a boring piece of crap, it had no identity no plot and nothing to bring you in and find it engaging and i usually find British series engaging and intelligent...

I really liked it. Similar to Early Doors with very likeable characters. Needs a really funny character to up the comedy level a bit, but looking forward to the rest of the series.

I'm watching it now on Sky Anytime. It's not too bad, I think.

I agree, nwobhm. I also get an Early Doors feel from this, and that's a very good thing!

Adam-pants, I suspect that "The Cafe" will become more interesting to you once you have passed thru the rites of puberty and have grown up a bit. In the meantime there are car chases, misogynistic slapstick monstrosities and Lady Gaga updates to keep you satisfied.

Well, there's always "Maury" if you want to watch truly "socially-redeeming" and "important" television.

No, but I had to give up on Doc Martin because there's just so much you can do with that character in that place without reaching a level of dull predictability. The Cafe benefits from having such short series and doesn't try to do too much beyond offering some gentle amusement.
