First Episode Yes, Second Episode No

I thought I was going to really like this show but the second episode seems so unbelievable. They paid $56k for a rundown crack house when real estate values have plummeted all over the country. They then sold it for just over $100k. Seems very hard to believe that someone would want to move into that neighborhood no matter how nice you made the house.

I would think that Mike and Doug could make a killing in a place like Detroit. They are practically giving houses away in those hoods instead of selling them for 56k. Put 20-30k into the rehab and then sell it for $109,000 all day long.

Reality TV has come to the point where most viewers are so skeptical of what each show trying to pawn off as real. The vandalism looked like it was done by the art department (I know there are artistic taggers but the interior striping didn't look like any tagging I'd ever seen). My bet is that this house was not a gang house but it made for a better story to make it so.

hahahaha I was thinking of the same thing.. i dont know why i was watching this show . I had spike on while i was playing a game and it was on still and i kept it on cause it had the gang stuff and im interested in gang stuff for some reason and i planned to turn it off and i liked the black dude lmao.

But i was very skeptical the whole time, and me knowing how real gangs work from just being really street smart, im a white kid btw that lives an hour from Newark NJ, so i dont live in gang areas but I still am interested and know a lot about it from gangland, reading, etc. ANyways I got extremely skeptical and doubted the whoe credibility of the episode and gangs when the guy said to the camera "Its a battle between us and them and WERE GONNA WINN"

-______- ........ really?? Really??? If this real.. a small WHITE GUY is saying to a dangerous murdering *beep* STREET GANG, they are going to win ?! You really cant understand how stupid this sounds unless you understand about gangs and how relentless they are, and just *beep* crazy they are and ruthless they are from their youth. There is no way they would just tag a house and let white guys WIN like that..

ANYWAYS back to what i was saying, the tagging like you said looked WAY too NEAT and just wrong. and the thing that just made me really not bleieve it at all was this......... When the black guy that was guarding the house, who i DO BELIEVE was actually an OG of some gang did go outside to the front to see who was there, there was a car that IMMEDITALLY SPED OFF. like AS SOON as the they walked out, the CAR SPED OFF.

There is some problems with this.
1. In no less than 5 seconds after they walked out, the car sped off. Was the car just sitting there, causing mischief by sitting infront of the house and SPED OFF when it was spotted? LOL right
2. The car was NOT A GHETTO LOOKING CAR AT ALL. From my memory it was a suv or smooth NEW LOOKING truck with a smooth back, sortve hatchback looking. As if it was someone from the crews car, something a PARENT would have. NOT A GANG. Seriously.
3. Just being spotted would NOT stop a gang. Really. Having that guy and being spotted would really stop a gang from doing anything to a house that they marked? I really doubt it.
4. The car HIT IT so quickly, as if it was planned. Seriously, watch this over again if you can and keep in mind all of what i said and tell me if you agree or not

Oh yeah, I totally agree, Nick! I was thinking some of the same things that you were. Mike kind of laid down the challenge to all gang-bangers. Even though they faked the gang activity, there may be an answer one day to his challenge before a national audience.

I've been watching this show, and enjoy it over all the other shows I have seen about house flipping - maybe because it's more focused on their mission (and not the drama in their personal lives) and it's only 30 minutes.

I agree with you guys - the second ep was a little to fake with the 'gang'. I mean if they really wanted to have a pissing contest with these two guys they would have torched the house, and say "we won". Not artisticly spray paint.

The third ep was ok - paying off the guy to take his stuff out of there. I do find it hard to believe that three of them can turn the house around that quickly, without running into any unforseen problems, though.

And they have never said where they get the money to do this in the first place...

well according to him gangbangers only drive *beep* cars, so it must be true. seriously though. i live on the west side of chicago in a area full of gangs. i see thugs driving suv's all day long. hell i rarely see *beep* old cars around here. gang bangers have nice cars and nice shoes....their house well thats another story.

with that said i agree the entire gang scenario was fake as hell.
