Movie

Yes, because she isn't white at all *rolls eyes*

Agree. I actually found this film overtly racist in many ways, such as the suggestion that she may be closer to new friends "because they are black" than she was with her life-long "white" friends.

Additionally, "black" and "white" have no biological criteria, they are a cultural status. Being raised as she was, she is as "white" as anyone, despite her apparently desperately wanting a different identity.

I don't know if time has changed or what but it seems like mixed people kind of always have that poor me story. I come from a mixed race family and it isn't even thought about twice. None of us ever had problems at school. Not to mention me and my classmates all looked different. Now I realize I prob didn't have problems because I grew up in a diverse city but still, it seems like society should be used to mixed people by how. Why is it still such a big deal? Actually my biggest observation is its never black people or white people that's always whining about it, it's the mixed people that are always making it a big deal.

Her mother is white, what partof that does not make her part white. There are very few "one drop" rule so-called black people here in the US who is not part white.
